Fieracavalli brings the Rolex FEI World Cup to Verona

Fieracavalli, the meeting point for fans and professionals of the equestrian world is once again in Verona to present breathtaking shows, exciting competitions and many educational and entertaining activities.

From the 3rd to the 6th of November, the most important horse fair in Italy will receive over 2.500 horses of more than 60 different races, a richness that will continue with exhibitors from over the world that will present the latest trends in horse equipment and fashion. The fair will be composed of four areas: Arabian horses, Spanish horses, Italian Horses and Western Show, and of more than 12 exhibition rings in which artists of dressage and jumping will surprise visitors with spectacular tricks. Children visiting the fair will also have a special area of their own: Villaggio del Bambino will offer games and lessons on the history of horses and on how to take care of them. This section of the fair will also be the scenario of the first edition of the International Pony Market. Despite counting over a hundred years, Fieracavalli stays true to its origins as a horse market while keeping up with the innovations of the field. The history and traditions of horses will be one of the main themes of many discussion sessions and activities, that will focus, among others, on the animal’s feeding and on the relationship that links horses and their riders. The most recent transformations in the equestrian industry will also be object of discussion in several events. Fieracavalli will also host the fourth and only Italian stage of the Rolex FEI World Cup, also known as Jumping Verona and that has become one of the most awaited events of the exhibition. The competition, which started in Oslo on October 12th, includes jumping and dressage and brings to the arena some of the most talented riders of the world, that will compete in thirteen European stages in order to become the best rider of the season, a title that will be awarded in the April finale in S-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands. Among the competitors of this year’s competition is Roberto Cristofoletti, best rider of the 2010/2011 season. The expertise and skills of the equestrian artists will extend to one of the most interesting events of the fair, ‘Talenti&Cavalli’, an opportunity for riders visiting Veronafiere in November to demonstrate their horse riding abilities in front of an international judging panel. The prize, being able to star in next year’s great Gala. This year’s closing ceremony, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification will feature international artists such as Audrey Hasta Luego, the horsewoman from the French Stable of Equestrian Art that mixes styles and genres in a show full of stunning twirls and superb technique. Shows, debates and many other activities to discover among horses from all over the world, an experience not to be missed for all the fans of this loyal and magnificent animal.
